Spam
Simply put, junk that lands up in our spambox/spamtrap. It appears that certain ips and domains are an endless stream of pollutants. Spam is now out of control, see here.
One of the best ways to see your spam and the IP’s that they come from, is to Grep your spambox. Grep or WinGrep is an amazing tool that will allow you to very easily GRAB the data you need, quickly and easily. This is the best timesaver in getting all the sources that fill your mailbox with pollution. Never rely on an email address as the source of spam, as they are easily faked. Blocking access to your resouces and the methodology is explained here.
Due to the large volumes of spam from certain networks and their failure to curb the unsolicited mail that seeps from their networks, we unfortunately have had to revoke their mail priveledges. Please note its a priviledge granted to then to receive their mail, not a right to have it delivered. We have moved to a system of white listing on request by Ip as apposed to allow all and then attempt to block unwanted abuse. We will white list legitimate mailservers on request.
For a whitelisting request to be granted, we require, the IP of your mailserver, and a proper reverse entry in DNS.
Here is todays grep on one mailbox :
